Celebrating 30 years of our After School Programs!
We are so greatly blessed here at Cherry Street! Cherry Street’s doors opened in May of 1995 and we have provided free after school care, love, and support ever since. Many of you may know the back story of how things got started. Our founder, Barb Prier, felt God’s calling to care for the latch key kids that needed someplace safe after school. With a lot of volunteer support and the financial support of three couples, a small house on the corner of Cherry and Forest was purchased to be a safe haven for 42 children on day one!
We have grown quite a bit through the years! We want to host an anniversary party for EVERYONE! We want everyone to see how their support and financial contributions though the years has transformed what we do here at Cherry Street every day. Please save May 3rd on your calendars from 1-3pm to come see our facilities. We plan to have activities for the children, refreshments, and opportunities to talk with staff, board members, and as many Cherry Street alumni as possible.
